Dalí Museum Figueres near Barcelona. The Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres was created as a work of art and a museum by Catalan Spanish artist Salvador Dali making it the largest surrealist work of art in the world. The Dalí museum was built in the ruins of the former Figueres Municipal Theatre which was destroyed at the end of the Spanish Civil War. To visit there are many day tours from Barcelona to visit the Dali museum in Figueres - or you can go yourself by regular or high-speed train from Barcelona. The town of Figueres is 140km from Barcelona with are excellent train connections several times daily including a high speed train connection. The three Dali museums near Barcelona form the so-called Dali Triangle.
Closed on 1 January and 25 December. Closed every Monday between 1 October and 31 May, except on holidays, holiday eves and 24 December. From 1 June to 30 September open daily.
